As part of the collaboration between the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University and the Coral Triangle Center (CTC), starting Thursday, 26 March 2015 in building F, an annual training on Conservation Action Planning (CAP) was held for 4 days on 26-29 March 2015 In the first batch of this third year, there were 30 participants consisting of various study programs, namely Marine Science, Oceanography, Aquatic Resources Management (MSP), Utilization of Fishery Resources (PSP), Aquaculture (BDP), Fishery Product Technology (THP), and Masters in Coastal Resource Management (S2 MSDP). The training instructor came from CTC, namely Bp. Denny Boy Mochran and Bp. I Nyoman Suardana. FPIK sent young staff Nurul Latifah, MSi and Sigit Febrianto, MSi as training assistants, so that later they could carry out the training themselves in each semester.
The training was held from 08.00 – 17.00 WIB, participants were divided into five groups with materials from: 1). TN. Karimunjawa, 2). KKPD Ujungnegoro Coastal Park – Roban, Batang, 3). TWP Nusa Penida KKPD, Klungkung, 4). Wakatobi NP, 5) Pantar Strait KKPD, Alor. The training materials consist of a conservation action plan including: a). An overview of the conservation plan; b). The process of establishing and managing Marine Protected Areas (KKP); c). Conservation Plan; d). setting priorities and building plans; e). Introduction to MIRADI application program software; f). Conservation action plan steps (forming a team, determining project scope, determining main conservation goals, assessing the feasibility of main conservation goals, identifying important threats). In addition to the material presented, discussions and presentations were also developed for each group to carry out conservation action plan steps manually and using the MIRADI application.
During the four days of training, the participants were very active and enthusiastic in simulating conservation action plans. This was proven by the participants being present on time and the existence of an exchange of opinions in the group during discussions and exchange of opinions between groups after the presentation.
