Abstract

Kidney disease is a clinical situation which is indicated by the decreasing of kidney functions. Whereas MSCT is one of the modalities used to diagnose the kidney function. The aims of this research are to identify the differences of image information with slice thickness variations and window settings and to analyses the contrast value. The method used was the experimental research using Posttest Only Group Design. The sampling was chosen consecutively where there were 18 patients on the examination of MSCT abdomen without positive contrast media in Salatiga Public Hospital. The research was conducted from May to July 2015. The result showed that there were significant differences of after using variations of slice thickness 1 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm and window settings abdomen, mediastinum with Mann Whitney T -Test. It was found that there was different result of p value 0,000 (p < 0, 05). The optimum image quality was obtained by applying with slice thickness 1 mm and window settings abdomen. There were also significant differences of contrast value experiment analysis using Matlab. We found that the contrast value between ureter and stone was 36.237. It can be concluded that the contrast value analysis using Matlab can help in diagnosing urinary tract. © 2017 American Scientific Publishers. All rights reserved.
