Salt may be seen as a trivial spice in the kitchen. One of the improvements in salt quality can be done by adding iodine. The service activities carried out by Dr. Drs. Wilis Ari Setyati, M.Si made modifications to the manufacture of iodized salt using halofloculant bacteria, which was funded by PKUM Diponegoro University. Activities carried out from July – October 2020 in Parang Village, Karimunjawa Islands District. Jepara, Central Java. The process of making salt crystallization can be improved in terms of quality and quantity by the addition of a culture of halophilic bacteria. Dr. Drs. Wilis Ari Setyati, M.Si said that the enthusiasm of the people of Nyamuk Island is very high, due to the abundant natural resources but the human resources have not been able to expect optimally. It is hoped that this activity will increase the knowledge of the surrounding community about salt making, where Mosquito Island still has high potential.
